Frank Wu, dean of Wayne State's Law School, will address the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative - an affirmative action program that will be on the ballot in November - in Grosse Pointe on Oct. 3. The proposed constitutional amendment would ban the use of race- and gender-based preferences in government hiring and in university admissions.
